1. Ultimate Merger: I give major respect to the show for using faux fur instead of real fur. Thanks @LilVanPeebles for calling me out about that because I originally comp-tweet-lained before I knew it was fake. The show is interesting and there's some serious eye candy on here, too. Usually on these dating shows there are only 1 or 2 guys I enjoy, but a lot of these guys are entertaining. So far, I'm cheering for Jason, Cedric, Frank and King. I like temperamental Harvey playing "big brother," too.

2. David Banner's "Swag": I can't remember the last time (minus Eminem's "Syllables") that I actually had to listen to a hip-hop song more than a couple times to make sure I got all the lyrics. Usually it's a bunch of negative gibberish with a tight beat. I can dance to a few, but I'd NEVER buy it. This song, however, I respect. I respect what David Banner is doing professionally anyway, but this cut sealed it for me. (Just an FYI, I despise it when people use the word "nigga" and completely disregard the history. I went through a stage in high school when I thought it was OK but college quickly poured ice water on me and I haven't used it in conversation--outside of quoting--since then.)
3. Debarge/Switch: I don't know why I didn't listen to the Debarge brothers growing up. Even when Chico Debarge came to a concert that my previous employer hosted, I went solely to hang out. I didn't think I knew one Debarge song enough to sing along, and then Chico canceled the concert due to a death in his family. But I watched TV One's special on Switch/Debarge siblings and I like and recognize a lot of these songs, but I just didn't know they were the group/artists singing them. There were two songs that I used to despise because an ex had them on his voicemail. Although it took a minute, I now just hear them as good music and stopped disliking the songs because I dislike him. These guys really had some pipes, too. Their upper register is crazy!

4. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter church speech: Mayor Nutter talks about youth mob groups, parenthood, criminal activity and education in this video. Although I think some folks may miss the message, I agreed with 100%. He dropped a lot of knowledge that may irritate those who won't admit it's the truth (or are too ashamed to realize they're the problem).

5. Michael van Straten "The Omega 3 Cookbook": After mentioning to a co-worker that I was trying to find ways to have omega 3 in my diet and how I've been ill three times trying to eat fish again, he found this book in his collection of food stuff. I love food reporters/editors. They can always give you good tips on a recipe or up your food game. I'm absolutely attached to that book these days. I made two galleries out of it to give others ideas on omega 3: Gallery 1 (meals) and Gallery 2 (nuts).
